Give Yourself Permission To Enjoy Life

So many people are caught up in the treadmill.  They must get up, brush their teeth, shower, eat breakfast, get ready for work, do the long drive, sit behind a desk like a veal, drive back home in traffic, eat dinner, watch tv and fall asleep.

Even on the weekends it is still a never ending cycle of always having to do something.

Every now and then you must stop it.  Give yourself permission to get off the treadmill and do something out of the ordinary that you really want to do.

It doesn’t have to be big, but it can be.  It doesn’t have to be expensive or it could use up your savings.  Whatever that thing is you want to do, give yourself the permission to do it.  This could be the thing to break you out of your prison of duldrums and inspire you to better things.

Take a walk.  Go on a picnic with the family.  Play with the animals and the shelter.  Volunteer to work in your community.  Give help to the poor, needy or homeless.  Read a book to a blind person.  Visit an amusement park.  See a movie at a relic drive-in.  Learn a new dance move.  Curl up with a book or read it in a hot tub.  Whatever it is that you never give yourself time to enjoy, just do it.

Life is way too short to put off enjoying life.  The things will always be there and will always need attention.  Just because you take some time off for you does not mean everything will go out of control.  Plan it if you must.  Let others help you carry some of your burden and you help them in return.  Just mark some time on your schedule to do something wonderful.
